Finally Did a Kettlebell Workout
Today I finally dragged out one of my kettlebell CDs and both my little kettlebells (only a 10-pounder and a 15-pounder) to give them a try. It was actually pretty fun and my legs were sore afterwards, so I knew I at least got a great lower body workout. I used the 10-pounder for the first section and the 15-pounder for the second two sections. I'd like to get a 20-pounder soon because I know for some of those exercises I could have gone heavier.
The workout was Kettlebells the Iron Core Way, Volume 1 with Sarah Lurie. It was not the finest production I've seen, but it was a pretty good workout. My legs were shaking afterward as I had to go upstairs to get Ewan down for his nap. After I put him down, I did a stretch with my foam roller (the DVD didn't include a stretch). I look forward to doing Volume 2 soon. I'm also looking for other good kettlebell workouts. I loved swinging that sucker around and the great moves. I was a little worried on the one-arm swings that I'd accidentally let go and the kettlebell would fly into the TV, but luckily that didn't happen. I also banged my arm a couple times, so maybe I need some wrist pads or something.
My shoulders were also sore, but they seemed to be sore before I even started, so I'm guessing that's from yesterday's workout--Strike Zone with Tracey Staehle (which I loved, review to come soon).

Hi Lainie,
Glad to see you enjoyed your workout. Kettlebells are an amazing tool! If you're banging your forearms (probably performing cleans?) then you just need to work on 'rolling' the bell around your hand. Not sure where you are in the Hudson Valley. I might be close by. Check out my site and if you can attend a MeetUp class, I'd be glad to help you out.
