Alas, Not so Ready After All...
I know everyone (probably including blog readers) is tired of hearing about my sprained ankle. I’m tired of it myself! So sick and tired that I decided it was probably o.k. because I wanted to do some cardio today. First I tried some kickboxing--then I remembered the twisty ankle parts--like when I do a cross punch I twist on the front ankle, etc. So, I thought maybe I'd try some low impact step. I brought out Cathe’s Low Max, which I haven't done in ages, and started out on a 6" step. Nope, even low impact I was feeling that ankle a bit too much. I switched down to a 4" and did a bit more (I was only in the warmup) and realized that ankle is just not ready. I could have cried, but I knew I shouldn't push it too fast, so I shut off the video and gave up. I think I should go ahead and call my doctor just to get a professional opinion, even though I have the feeling she'll take a look at me and tell me some common sense advice that I already know and send me home.
Stupid ankle. Stupid me for falling off the step. Oh well. I guess I'd better think about another week of upper body only....
Does anyone have any advice? Or any great upper body workouts to recommend? I’ve activated comments so feel free to comment, if you like. Pyramid Upper Body was awesome the other day, I’ll likely do that one again. I was thinking also of doing Cathe’s Crosstrain Xpress Upper Body Body Split or the upper body parts of Amy Bento’s All Pump Xtreme. Or maybe I should just totally embrace the upper body concept and do the upper body Gym Styles plus the Doulbe Upper Body premix of Body Max 2. I sure regret not being able to start the cardio next week, though.
